What Is Yoga? Yoga is the union of physical body with the mind and spirit; it has existed in some form for thousands of years. Yoga, which is closely associated with Hinduism and other traditions including Buddhism, is best described as a spiritual rather than a religious practice. Hatha yoga is the type of yoga most practised in the west and involves the yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation/ meditation techniques.
